PHILOSOPHY

Art can inspire, teach and heal. I create sculpture to express physical and emotional energy through the abstraction of the human form. Anatomy, gesture and the tactile handling of surfaces are essential components for manifesting my thoughts in these works. I work in large and small scale, bronze, clay or styrothane for public and private collections. I have exhibited with The National Academy of Design and National Sculpture Society, New York, and have completed sculptural commissions for the National Hockey League, Vail Valley Foundation/Gerald Ford Amphitheater and private collectors. I was honored by Southwest Art, July 2002, as one of 25 Leading American Sculptors.
In your selection of any art, please consider this: When an artist can harness whatever it is that burns inside them at a given moment and throw it into their, clay, paint, stone - If a concept can manifest the energy that inspired it, then, through the medium and subject matter, a piece of work can come to life. That is what makes a work no longer - a painting, a sculpture, a craft - but Art. Work that transcends it's physical state and actually affects you - stays with you. The energy moves from artist to art to viewer. That's good Art!
